Meet the Instructor

Erika Seeley, MA, ISR Instructor

I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, inheriting a love of the outdoors. After being homeschooled in the 80's and attending high school in North Denver, I went to CU Boulder where I earned bachelors degrees in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Psychology. I married my college sweetheart and together we have parented 5 children who range in age from 29 to 12 years old. We are thrilled to even be grandparents now! I have worn the many hats of a stay at home parent: cook, maid, nurse, chauffeur, team mom and even sports coach. Zookeeper? It sure felt like it sometimes! I have also been a homeschool mom, teacher of sciences and US History, and director of a homeschool co-op. Through it all, I remained passionate about ISR which had kept my own children safe! As a certified ISR Instructor, I have months of specialized training, and years of experience, in helping children and adults discover how to rescue themselves if they end up in an aquatic emergency. I also maintain current Red Cross CPR & First Aid Certifications, as well as a certification for working with children with  ASD and/or those who have sensory needs. I've taught children with many complex health and development situations such as cerebral palsy, diabetes, hearing and/or vision impairments, speech and language conditions, ADHD, ASD, and more. I have also helped several adults overcome a lifelong fear of drowning! I am fully licensed and insured. Most importantly, I love kids, and I am passionate about helping you keep them safe around water with the gift of ISR. I promise to support your children, encourage them, and empower them throughout their lessons. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children!

Yo hablo un poco de español. Si el español es su idioma principal, me complace tratar de hablarlo con usted u sus hijos.

I taught these 4 siblings ranging in age from barely 6 months old to almost 7 years old and loved every minute of it!

My covered and heated pool is the perfect place for kids to learn to swim in any season! It is located at my home in Golden, Colorado. This means I can conduct lessons without worrying about swim team practices, open swims, or pool closures.

When you arrive at the house, please park off the street, on our property by the ISR signs.
